But it is not freedom that awaits her there. The poor innocent is tied to a tree and subjected to beatings and shocking indignities to break her spirit. Clamps and clothespins pinch her delicate flesh. She is caned, whipped and beaten with a belt, stung with nettles, slapped, spat on and degraded. Her tormentor shows no mercy until she is crying and defeated. Only then is her true destiny revealed – to be buried alive and left alone in the woods..
